I have sciatic nerve problem. I have had this for 4 years now. It is like a toothache on your back. Is there any cure for this? My doctor has put me on nerontin. A pain pill. It works but, I would like to get off ot these pills. He has done injections in my back three time but, they only last for a short time then the pain is back. I would appreciate any help out there.
I would suggest a "good" chiroprator. This is the only thing that helped me. I suffered for years with this. It would get so bad I would be walking hunched over. You have to get adjusted. Try to find a chiro that uses the clicker method. Be careful, there are good chiros and bad ones, I dont like the ones that manipulate the body by force. Try to get some reccomdatoins from freinds or coworkers so you know someone that has used the doc. It may take several visits, could even take a couple of months. I went 3 times a week for a couple weeks, then taper off, also had a message therapist in the same office so did that a couple of times. This was about 3 years ago and it has not returned. When I first went she notices that one leg was longer than the other because by hips were so out of line. I swear by this method. Hope it helps. Let me know if I can help you further. I can ask my doc if there is anyone in your area that she recomends for you if you tell me what city you are in....
One of my problems is I am on workmans comp. My caseworker has told me I can't see a chiroprator because it would harm me. I went to one anyways and the doctor there told me he would need an ok from my caseworker before he could do anything for me. I suppose I could try another one. If you could help me I live in Saint Petersburg Florida. Thanks for your help.
oh that does pose a bit of a problem. Shoot. I would keep looking until you find one that will treat you. I would fight work comp - you have rights! Check what they are, go to your human resources person at your company or call an attorney. Call the state agency that handles work comp. Do what you have to. But make sure you find a chiropractor that is reputable. I wish you lived up here, you could use mine. She is my hero. ( well one of them )

that is tough I know how you feel I have the same thing and nerve damage plus I have had 4 back operations. I got to where I was taking 15 400mg nerontin a day plus a hand full of pain killers your body will adjust to the drugs and you then need to take more it is a bad deal. I agree with the chiropractor has I have one and he uses the toffness not sure on the spelling, it is acupressure so you are not getting jolted a massage therapist is good as well. I am also seeing an acupuncturists . I also bought one of those Tetter hang ups and use it every day. I also started taking Goji Juice and that helped me get off of the pills, not going to try and sell you on it but I do sell it. I do have a club on the Goji with a short video you can check out. Hope this helps
What supplement wouuld you suggest is a good one.? Also what is seasilver? I am so new to this. I am on workmans comp. because of this sciatic problem I have. And my case worker will not allow me to go to a chiropractor. I went to one chiropractor and he told me he would have to have my case worker call him before he could see me. I suppose I could try another chiropractor and see what happens. Thanks for your help.
Sue, I had a Sciatic nerve problem many years ago. It was so bad I couldn't walk. I went to a chiropractor for 8 weeks, During those 8 weeks he gave me floor exercises to do at home and I had spine manipulations 3 times a week and eventually once a week. He also advised me to lose 10 lbs and I did eventually. I never had a problem again.
As I can see from everyone who has replied to me that seeing a chiropractor is the way to go. That will be my first thing I want to do.. I have just recently lost 17 lbs. I just changed my eating habits and eat a lot healther now.
