Hello to all! Glad to find a MonaVie forum! I love Natural News and love, love, love MonaVie too! I am one of the women from the YAZ horror. It almost killed me just over a year ago. Left me bedridden at 37 years old. Do not ge me wrong, my MD's did all they knew to do: put me on 8 different meds, sent me home and said do the best you can for what time you have left there is nothing else we can do. I am grateful to my MD's b/c they kept me alive long enought to find a nutritional chiropractor Named Dr. Barfield in Roanoke Rapids, NC. The first thing he put me on was organic fruit! It helped me to get better but not fully well. Did some detoxing of the YAZ through Standard process products and then WOW! My lymphadema therapist introduced me to MonaVie. Took it to my chirpractor, he approved, and I feel better than I have felt since I was 20! YAZ left me with heart palpiatations, an adrenal tumor, panic attacks, severe anxiety, lymphadema, etc. Heart palpiations would go up to 170 in less than 2 secs if I even moved. HORRIBLE! Within 3 weeks my palipitaions were cut in half and in a month, GONE! I can get up early again, exercise, walk, and get myself dressed. I am back to work! No more shortness of breathe, anxiety or panic attacks and tumor is gone (proven by MRI)! Another side effect is I have lost 34 pounds! I FEEL LIKE exercising instead of not having the energy to exercise at all (pre yaz) and most of all my outlook on life it AWESOME! I am cherishing every minute! I also have had terrible menstral cramping since early teens and now NONE! It is amazing what happens when you give your body what it wants and needs to heal itself.
Seems to me there are some people on here who want to fret about MonaVie.. why? Everyone is different... you have to find what works for YOU! MonaVIe is it for me and I have had the priveledge to see it work in some awesome ways for others as well. MonaVie is a product this country so desparately needs! Just like in a natural news article recently, our nutrition is horrible causing all kinds of disease! We can fix it with good nutrition. We were going broke trying to juice ourselves and only eating organic fruits/veggies. Still didn't help my body to heal like these 19 fruits did and for a fraction of the cost we were spending... $60 for fruit/veggies to get about 16 ounces...... so MonaVie is cheap in my book! I suggest to all to give MonaVie a try.. if you haven't tried it then you are the only one who is missing out! Thanks to all who worked so hard to make MonaVie! God used it to save my life! I am truely grateful! Windy

Joshua, please share the relevant facts with us, as I have in my previous posts. Remember, acai is only one of nineteen fruits used in MonaVie. Does Dr. Shauss explain how the ORAC value of the acai drops from 1,027 umoles (as an ingredient) down to 22.81 umoles, when added to MonaVie?

Good Morning-
Well I just picked up reading where I left off in "Acai; from the Amazon" revised, by Dr Alex S. WOW, it really has a plethora of information. I highly recommend everyone here to read this book and get your facts from Dr. S. particularly chapter 5. I think that this chapter really explains Ft's concerns regarding the difference in ORAC values from acai to MV blend.
It really is an incredible product. I appreciate the dialogue we have shared in that, it has prompted me to get to the research myself. Now I am certain that I am involved with the right company/product as well as in business with the right leaders in TEAM/Monavie.
Thanks,
Have a blessed day

Thank you Nanpurks for setting the record straight. That explains why Bobby J. all of a sudden removed all references to MonaVie from his website here. Thanks for again bringing up the patent by Dr. Schauss. On his powerpoint presentations, Dr. Schauss points the the ORAC score of his processed freeze-dried acai concentrate. There it is listed as 1,027 umoles/gm. However, on his patent application, the highest ORAC for the powder is 536 umoles/gm. A little disingenuous, I'd say.

It doesn't really matter, because the ORAC of MonaVie is only 22.81 umoles/ml. Quite a drop from 1,027 to 22.81. This indicates a low level of acai in the product. To corroborate this we can look at the level of the predominant antioxidant in acai. This would be anthocyanins (pigments). It was measured at 0.095 mg/ml. Very low indeed. Saying that acai adds anything to MonaVie is like throwing a grape in a bucket of water and calling it wine.

The patent on the processing the acai berry iwhich protects the nutrients. The acai has been eaten for centuries but it is so fragile that no one outside of the local area could enjoy it. Dr. Schauss is the researcher who has been awarded a U.S. Patent (and possibly foreign patents in the future) on the process that has allowed the nutrients from the acai to be shared around the world.

You can download the pdf of the patent if desired.

Food Tech, I have never been warned of anything by Monavie. So you are making things up. Bobby was told he could not sell on-line. He was not told he couldn't post. Get your facts straight since you are playing the authority on Monavie.

Monavie is a synergistic product with the nutrition from 19 fruits. Too bad you threw the bottle away that was given to you, or at least that is what you told us.

Your statements made in the last post are based on delusion.

My, My, Dyane. I see MonaVie doesn't do a thing for psychotic outbursts. I was waiting for you to cite your scientific references that back the claims you're are making. There are none. One of the rules of argument is that if your opponent says something totally ridiculous, you are not obligated to respond. An example would be if Dyane said that she has Bigfoot living in her basement. I have no reason to attempt to disprove such a statement. So, Dyane, if you want to debate on an intelligent level, you need to supply the credible source of your incredible information. Otherwise, I won't waste my time responding to your nonsensical claims.

Bobby J. and Nanpurks are well known on the purplehorror.com website. Both have been warned by MonaVie about posting nonsense online, but obviously, they've ignored it. I have always posted as Food Tech, no matter where I post. Since no one has ever been able to challenge any of the scientific information that I reference, there is no reason to change my moniker. Bobby J. is the male version of Dyane. He never documents anything that he writes about. He gets his kicks by attempting juvenile insults. I think it bothers him that I don't offend easily. I grew up with five brothers, so he's going to have to try a lot harder.

No one needs to believe anything that I write. However, if you want to check things out for yourself, I can point you in the right direction.

To find out the ORAC score and the total phenolic level (polyphenols) of MonaVie, you can use the study by AIBMR Life Sciences (Dr. Schauss). This was sponsored by MonaVie. Find it at: http://www.aibmr.com/news/pdfs/antioxidant-juice.pdf Refer to Table 1 on page 8329. Here you'll find the total ORAC as 22.81 umoles/ml. Also, the total phenolics are listed as 1.48 mg/ml. Multiply either of those numbers times 29.57 (milliliters in a fluid ounce) and multiply again times 4 ounces (days serving of MonaVie).

Now compare this to various fruits and vegetables found in the USDA ORAC Table of Selected Foods - 2007. Find it at: http://www.ars.usda.gov/SP2UserFiles/Place/12354500/Data/ORAC/ORAC07.pdf

To compare to other juices, use the recent study done at UCLA at: http://www.pomwonderful.com/pdf/Antioxidant_Beverage_Study.pdf
